I am currently studying a National Diploma course in Public Services. Last year in college I was on the First Diploma course and achieved an overall merit grade at the end of the year. As well as my main Public Service qualification I was also one of the first students in our college to do the Welsh Baccalaureate.

In addition to studying the various parts of the Bac, I also passed 6 key skills at level 2. These were: Communication, Application of Number, IT, Working With Others, Problem Solving and Improving Own Learning and Performance. To gain these key skills we took part in a number of activities including outdoor activities. Some of these were with the Army who set up activities so that we could achieve the Working With Others and Problem Solving key skills. I very much enjoyed these and other practical activities and trips that were arranged for us as part of the Welsh Bac.

For my individual investigation I looked at homelessness in Wales and England and then I made a comparison with the problem in Romania. In this investigation I looked at things like the causes of homelessness, the consequences of homelessness and also what is being done to try and help people who find themselves in this situation.

For my work experience I went to a sport shop called Gilesport which is situated in the town. For most of the week I was on the shop floor helping the customers and working at the cashdesk. I currently have a part time job in a nightclub where I have been working for the past year. I started off as a glass collector and have also been a barman and a supervisor.

Rugby is one of my main interests. I have achieved a lot in my sport. When I was in Comprehensive School I was selected for the Llanelli schoolboys' team. I also went to Newport with the school to play in a Sevens Tournament and in this we lost in the main cup competition but then went on to win the shield competition against some good schools. I am now a member of the West Wales Sports Academy. We have two teams in the academy and I play for both teams and recently the second team won their last two games and are close to winning their league.

I am currently studying a National Diploma course in the college but I am hoping to join the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. I hope to stay in the army for a few years and then leave to fulfil my ambition of becoming a Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police.
