Wales, Europe and the World

In this section, you'll find ideas, activities and resources related to teaching and learning of the Wales, Europe and the World (WEW) component of the Welsh Baccalaureate Core at the Intermediate Level. Some of these may be suitably adapted for ue at at other levels. Contributions to this section from Welsh Bac centres are welcome.

Resources are grouped, as in the specification, under four headings, one for each element. Resources linked to one element may well be relevant or useful for others, as well as other parts of the WBQ, especially PSE.

Politics: This Element provides opportunities for candidates to engage in debate about political issues, and to recognise how political decisions can affect people.

Social issues: This Element provides opportunities for candidates to consider a range of social issues affecting people in Wales, the UK, Europe and the world.

Economic and technological issues: This Element provides opportunities for candidates to consider how rapid economic and technological change is affecting the lives of people in Wales, the UK, Europe and the world.

Cultural issues: This Element provides opportunities for candidates to engage in creative and/or sporting issues and activities.
