Personal and Social Education

In this section, you will find ideas, activities and resources related to teaching and learning of the Personal and Social Education (PSE) component of the Welsh Baccalaureate Core at the Intermediate level. Some of these may be suitably adapted for use at the Foundation or Intermediate levels. Contributions to this section from Welsh Bac centres are welcome.

Resources are grouped, as in the specification, under four headings, one for each element. Resources linked to one element may well be relevant or useful for others, as well as other parts of the WBQ, especially WEW.

1. Positive Relationships: changing relationships, the value of relationships and the nature of relationships  within the wider community.

2. Health and Emotional Well-being: benefits of a healthy lifestyle, leagal and illegal drugs and sexual health.

3. Active Citizenship: the key characteristics of democratic process, social and moral issues, legal and human rights.

4. Sustainable Development and global citizenship: sustainability, protecting the environment and living sustainably.
